Wolfram Schubert. On the centenary

Wolfram Schubert. On the centenary

Born in 1926 in Körbitz, Brandenburg, Wolfram Schubert is not only known for his frescoes in Neubrandenburg's town hall, he was also the long-time chairman of the Association of Visual Artists of the Neubrandenburg district and at the same time a city councillor in Neubrandenburg as well as a founding member of the Center for Visual Arts.

In addition to his commitment to political state art, his work includes catchy portraits, depictions of animals, landscapes and still lifes, for which he found inspiration in the surroundings of the Lake District as well as on extensive travels.

Wolfram Schubert is one of the prominent artists of the post-war generation and was involved in major art exhibitions. Numerous works can be found in public spaces, such as his concrete-abstract gable designs on the listed prefabricated buildings in Neustrelitzer Straße in Neubrandenburg, as well as in collections and museums, such as the Neubrandenburg Art Collection. To mark his 100th birthday, the Kunstsammlung is organizing a solo exhibition in the series IM HIER IM JETZT in collaboration with the Archiv Bildende Kunst MSE, which manages and processes a large collection of his legacy.
