Lecture "Cell phones, TikTok and ChatGPT
what use are bans?"

Lecture "Cell phones, TikTok and ChatGPT - what use are bans?"

  • Free of charge

Social media around the clock, AI chats on smartphones, gaming pressure and the debate about banning cell phones and platforms in schools: The everyday digital lives of children and young people have changed rapidly in recent years.

In his lecture, Thomas Feibel addresses these current developments and classifies them in an understandable way. He talks about the opportunities and risks of TikTok, WhatsApp & Co., explains how children use AI tools such as chatbots - and where parents should set boundaries. It's not about scaremongering, but about practical solutions: How can screen time be sensibly regulated? Do we need mobile-free zones? How can families develop digital skills together?

Feibel provides specific recommendations for parents and educators and shows how media education can still succeed in 2026 - between control, trust and technical reality.
