Traveling exhibition "Stolen Memory"

Personal items - so-called "effects" - that were taken from prisoners in concentration camps are on display in a converted overseas container. These include watches, rings, wallets and photos that once belonged to the persecuted. These objects tell the stories of people from over 30 countries whose lives were destroyed by the Nazi regime. The link between past and present is particularly impressive: the exhibition not only documents the fates of the victims, but also the restitution of these personal items to their families. Thanks to the support of many volunteers, over 700 of these mementos have already been returned to relatives. Video portraits and QR codes allow visitors to discover the stories behind the objects and understand the significance of these returns.
