200 years ago, a new school building for boys opened on Schulstraße in the city center.
In 1916, a new school building for girls was built on what is now Lessingstraße.
Two buildings, two anniversaries—one no longer exists, the other is once again a higher education institution.
How and where did higher education take place in the past?
This special exhibition invites visitors on an exciting journey through time, exploring the history of secondary education in Neubrandenburg—from the beginnings of Latin and scholarly schools in the Middle Ages, through the development of the humanistic gymnasium, to the social upheavals of the first half of the 20th century.
Original documents, surprising stories, and fascinating insights paint a vivid picture of everyday school life in past centuries.
