Democracy in danger
Tuesday, 11/11/2025 / 06:00 PM - 12:00 AM / House of Culture & Education Neubrandenburg
What needs to be done to maintain a democratic social system in the region?
Right-wing extremism is a key threat to democracy.
A recent study by Neubrandenburg University of Applied Sciences has examined the spread of right-wing extremist influences in the areas of social work in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The findings show that right-wing extremist ideologies are increasingly attacking the democratically structured social sector. This harbors the risk of discrimination and racism in the social sector.
The event will present the key findings of the study. This will be followed by an opportunity for exchange and discussion. The focus will be on what charities, organizations, providers, associations and municipal institutions can do to counter right-wing influence in order to maintain a democratic social system in Neubrandenburg and the region.
