Day of the fall of the Berlin Wall and commemoration of the pogrom night

November 9 marks two significant events in German history: the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 and the Reichspogromnacht of 1938, which heralded the beginning of the systematic persecution and murder of Jewish citizens in Germany. Both dates are a reminder of peace, democracy and tolerance.
In commemoration of the pogrom night, a memorial service will be held in the four-gate city of Neubrandenburg. City President Thomas Gesswein will give the commemorative speech and lay a wreath together with Lord Mayor Nico Klose.
