RECIPIENT UNKNOWN – A Staged Reading for Anti-War Day

What happens when friendship turns into estrangement and political convictions turn into exclusion and hatred?

The staged reading “Recipient Unknown” tells the story—through a fictional exchange of letters between the German Martin Schulze and his Jewish-American friend Max Eisenstein—of the gradual transformation of their relationship following the Nazis’ rise to power. First published in the U.S. in 1938, the work is considered one of the earliest literary warnings against Nazism.

The reading will be performed by actors Gad Kaynar-Kissinger and Doron Kaynar-Kissinger. Following the performance, there will be an opportunity to speak with the artists and to discuss the play and its relevance to the present day.

    Moderator: Roger Müller

An event organized by the DGB Region East-MV on the occasion of Anti-War Day.
