Cinema at the Latücht: THE CHANGE
Saturday, 10/01/2026 / 07:30 PM - 10:00 PM / Cinema latücht
A movie that uses the example of a family to show the rift that runs through American society today.
USA 2025, Director: Jan Komasa, Length: 111 minutes
DA: Diane Lane, Kyle Chandler, Madeline Brewer, Zoey Deutsch, Phoebe Dynevor and others.
A preppy young woman named Elizabeth (Liz) prepares to meet her boyfriend Josh's family for the first time - on a day that is all about the parents. Together with their four children, they want to celebrate their silver wedding anniversary. If the movie still has the makings of a romcom up to this point, the tipping point comes when Josh's mother Ellen has a feeling of deja vu. An internet search confirms it: Liz once studied at the university where Ellen teaches and attracted attention in a term paper with crude, anti-democratic theses that amounted to the legitimization of an authoritarian state. Ellen got Liz expelled from the university. That was eight years ago. Should Liz be a different person now? But this hope is short-lived - until Ellen unwraps Liz's present, a book entitled "The Change".
We welcome our guests with a glass of sparkling wine at the start of the program.
