Galerie Kunst am Dom in Güstrow cordially invites you to an exhibition of two artistic positions which, despite their formal differences, speak a common language in their poetic approach to space, material and perception.
Michael Hegewald (*1955, Berlin) and Peter Lewandowski (*1954, Ganschow near Güstrow) met during their studies at the Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weissensee. More than four decades later, they are now entering into an artistic and personal dialogue together for the first time - as mature, independent and widely recognized artistic personalities.
In painting and sculpture, they explore the subtle transitions between form and space, visibility and perception. Despite all their differences, their works are united by a quiet, deeply schooled understanding of art as a contemplative counter-world to external hustle and bustle - concentrated, poetic, tangible.
