Stories with a Pen

Stories with a Pen

Opening reception on September 15 at 4:00 p.m. at the Güstrow District Administration Office

Writing, playing, and creating are central to Annette Paduck’s life. So it seems only natural that Annette Paduck transforms stories into drawings. The texts accompanying her drawings, in turn, give rise to new stories. She always carries a pencil with her. It replaces the camera, capturing dreams before they fade from her consciousness. The stories Annette Paduck tells are cheerful, sometimes surreal. They often arise from “blind drawing”—although many of her picture stories are created by drawing with her eyes closed, the artist is a keenly observant person.

Annette Paduck is an instructor of dramatic arts, improvisational theater, and creative, scenic, and movement-based writing. She regularly teaches courses and workshops at various institutions and frequently on Hiddensee.

The opening reception will take place on September 15 at 4:00 p.m., where all participants can try out the technique of blind drawing.

    Admission is free.
