When the birds take up their breeding territories in spring and the males vie for the favor of the females, the air is filled with birdsong. For the layman, it is hardly possible to distinguish between the individual bird species. The situation is different in the fall: many of the songbirds have already left for their wintering grounds in the south a few months ago. Only a few stalwarts, such as robins, wrens, tits, finches and nuthatches have remained here. So it is not quiet in the fall either. Although you can hear significantly fewer songs now, they are now easier to distinguish, especially for the untrained ear. The birds are now also easy to spot with the eye, as the leaves on the trees have become lighter. Busy and tireless in their search for food, they hop around in the bushes to gorge themselves before the coming winter. This is a great way to harmonize the sounds with the sight of the birds.

A nature park ranger would like to take you on a hike on Saturday, November 8th to experience these songs with you. The meeting point is at 9 a.m. in front of thenature park administration in Großen Luckow. The hike is about 3 kilometers long and will take about 2 hours.

Please remember to wear sturdy shoes.

If the weather is too bad, the hike will be canceled.
