Learn all about an exciting first-hand monument rescue with an hourly guided tour, musical and culinary accompaniment, live craftsmanship: Weber glass studio
To mark the nationwide Open Monument Day, we cordially invite you to a special event on Sunday, September 14, 2025 from 2 to 6 p.m. at a privately restored monument near Rostock - the Brookhusen manor house and its 750-year history.
Over 15 years of loving restoration work have gone into this historic house - now it is opening its doors and providing first-hand insights into the past and future as well as monument preservation.
THE PROGRAM INCLUDES:
- Hourly guided tours by the owner with exciting anecdotes about the history and renovation, including a look at life and living around 1900
- Musical accompaniment by the hunting horn players of the Warnowtal e.V.
- Delicious coffee & cake in a historic setting
- Live craftsmanship: The Weber glass studio from Buchholz gives applied insights into stained glass and glass painting as in the old days

ABOUT THE HOSTS:
When we saved this house from demolition in 2010 as a young couple from Rostock by purchasing it from the municipality of Benitz, we had no idea what a private monument rescue would mean. But now, after 15 years full of sweat and sometimes tears, we can proudly announce the completion of the project and look forward to your visit!
