Music & Literature
Cliff house, at the end of the world near the North Pole,
December 21, 1937
"Dear ones, it seems that you are getting more and more every year. I am getting poorer and poorer ... Lately it has been so cold at the North Pole that the North Polar Bear has spent most of his time sleeping instead of making himself useful as usual in the Christmas preparations ..."
Every year at the same time in December, an envelope with a stamp from the North Pole arrived for Tolkien's children, containing a letter with shaky handwriting and a beautiful colored picture or drawing. The letters came from Santa Claus ...
To get into the festive mood for the second weekend of Advent, the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival invites you to Ulrichshusen in winter with music and literature. With his unmistakably warm narrative voice, actor and audiobook interpreter Clemens von Ramin will take us into the fantastic world of J.R.R. Tolkien this weekend. The Christmas story will be musically complemented by NORDMETALL ensemble award winner Timothy Ridout on the viola and James Baillieu on the piano, who will put the audience in a festive mood with works by Grieg, Clarke and Forsyth.
