    In 1402, the legendary Margarethe unites Denmark, Norway and Sweden into an alliance under the ruling hand of her family, the Danish royal house. As the sole uncrowned regent, she controls the fate of the North through her young adopted son Erik. But the Nordic alliance has many enemies: Margarethe's scheming opponents suddenly claim that her beloved son, who was thought to be dead, is still alive... Margarethe must not only fight for the survival of her kingdom, but also reconcile her conflicting feelings. For a wicked conspiracy is afoot that could cost Margarethe everything she believes in.

    The historical film drama "The Queen of the North" about Margaret of Denmark is based on a true story. One of the great women in world history has to choose between her personal feelings and the pursuit of political power. One of Scandinavia's most expensive productions was made under the direction of Charlotte Sieling.
