Oranges, mandarins, raisins and the like are simply part of the Christmas season. Just like Santa Claus, Santa Claus or an Advent wreath and, of course, the tree. Wreaths, trees and men in red hats have always been around. But why are there fruits of the south at Christmas in our part of the world? And since when?
