We want to read stories about Martin Grambauer and the other Kummerow residents who, despite resistance from the at least physically respectable Pastor Breithaupt, still indulge in "heathen baptism", who sacrifice more or less sumptuous St. Martin's geese to church violence and who gain more than just views from the church tower. These passages from Welk's novel will be juxtaposed with examples of their scenic realization.
