The documentary is dedicated to the effects of the events of reunification on the lives of six Potsdam residents who experienced the year 1989 as children.
With great sensitivity and humor, the director explores the question of what influence the change in the political system has had on the values of those now in their mid-forties. In the 1990s, unprecedented freedom and self-determination stood side by side with unfulfilled desires for reform and the pain of loss. Vor Zurück Zur Seite Ran provides an opportunity to reflect on the circumstances of the transformation period and one's own experiences of the GDR and its end. A beautiful piece of Ostalgie without ideology.
