Open Monument Day in Stralsund with lots on offer

On Sunday, September 14, 2025, countless monuments across Europe will open their doors so that guests can take a look behind the facades. Stralsund will, of course, be part of the action and has plenty to offer. The offer ranges from two open monasteries and two street festivals to the newly renovated Frankenkronwerk, open private houses, a church tour and lectures. Anyone who has always wanted to take a look behind the doors and portals of monuments in the UNESCO World Heritage city of Stralsund is warmly recommended to do so on September 14. All Stralsund residents and guests of our city are cordially invited to the following program:

11:00 a.m. I Opening of the Open Monument Day by Lord Mayor Alexander Badrow
11:20 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. I Information on the renovated Frankenkronwerk by monument conservator Felix Kettmann

- Free guided tours of the construction site on the first floor with a maximum of 20 people at a time

- Guided tour by museum director Dr. Maren Heun, monument conservator Gunnar Möller and restorer Anne Gebler
ATTENTION: as the museum is still under construction, the tour is only partially accessible.

ATTENTION: Due to the street festival, Langenstraße will be fully closed on September 14 from 12:00 to 22:00 between Jakobiturmstraße and Langenstraße 28.
