A couples' therapist is supposed to help, but even he finds it difficult to get a grip on the two quarrellers. Joana seems to know in advance what her husband is going to say and therefore doesn't let him get a word in edgewise. Valentin punishes her for this with coldness of feeling; he accepts all the grievances as given and sees no reason for change. And the therapist also seems to have private difficulties...
