Lecture "Usedom's fishermen and fishing in the Achterwasser and the Baltic Sea"
Yesterday and today. The first inhabitants were able to make a living from fishing in the Achterwasser. They made their own tools such as nets, bottom fishing rods and fish traps. Due to the large shoals of herring in the Baltic Sea in the 19th century, many families found work and moved to the island.
