This tour of the Jasmund Peninsula visits some of Caspar David Friedrich's places of work and recreates his artistic activities on Rügen using paintings and sketches.
Discover the primeval beech forest of the Jasmund National Park with the chalk coast and the famous Wissower Klinken. Here you can compare reality with the famous painting "Chalk cliffs on Rügen". At a megalithic grave, the focus is on two paintings by the artist, which help you understand the significance of the painted oaks around the graves.
The tour continues via hidden chalk lakes, the Promoisel open-cast chalk mine with panoramic views over half the island to a legendary sacrificial stone with a blood channel, where you can compare the site with his drawing from 1806.
Pea soup and drinks are served at lunchtime. Sea buckthorn liqueur and mead made from cow horns are served at special locations.
