Chicago in the 1920s was a metropolis of industry, migration, jazz and crime. Two ambitious women make plans for their careers in prison and the media get involved. But it all begins with a murder. The material for one of the most successful US American musicals is based on a book by journalist Maurine Dallas Watkins: in it, she deals with two criminal cases that she actually reported on. Great show and pulsating music - taken straight from life!
