Cartoonair by the sea
Saturday, 13/09/2025 / 10:30 AM - 06:30 PM /
- from 2.50€ to 3.00€
The 18th Cartoonair am Meer starts on June 20 in Baltic resort Prerow with the title "Kaputte Bilder - was so alles schiefläuft - Cartoons". On September 11, 2024, the Carola Bridge in Dresden collapses. The first of thousands of bridges in need of renovation in Germany. Two months later, the coalition of traffic lights that never really worked breaks down. The German car industry is in crisis. The German railroads anyway. School buildings are rotting away, construction site chaos reigns on dilapidated roads. Housing is becoming increasingly scarce, living in it more expensive, supermarket prices are rising, economic growth is stagnating, governance is becoming more complicated, real incomes are falling, the mood is in the basement...
What's going wrong in our country?
High time for a satirical stocktaking.
It is also about the global connections in a world in which more and more broken people are wreaking havoc at the levers of power.
And, of course, about normal everyday life. With the many things in life that often don't work as they should. At work, in the family, at the stove, at school, on vacation, on social media and wherever else... Here and there perhaps combined with practical repair tips.
And the realization that nothing lasts forever. There is always a need for renovation everywhere.
Especially when it comes to thinking. More common sense and more human intelligence wouldn't go amiss.
