What do Caspar David Friedrich's paintings sound like? What "acoustic" landscapes are stored in his oil paintings? If you look at Caspar David Friedrich's paintings, you can literally hear nature: the rushing sea in "Monk by the Sea", the cloths moved by the wind in "On the Sailor" or the crashing floes in "The Sea of Ice".

In the unique world premiere of "Beats in Oil", Bauhaus student Malte Gunst and award-winning guitarist and producer Johannes Feige ("Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik") add electric beats to these soundscapes, bringing the paintings of Romanticism to new life. Embedded in the projection of the paintings, with improvisations by dancer Eleonora Fabrizi (Rome Opera Theatre and others) and with live music elements, an electrifying performance unfolds that brings Caspar David Friedrich's paintings into the present day.
