Children's sailing



Optimist sailing: Introduction to sailing on "children's dinghies". This course teaches the basic maneuvers of sailing in theory and practice in a child-friendly way. It also includes boat and knot skills as well as safe behavior on the water. The one-day course for children aged 7 and over concludes with the "VDS junior license".
The children's courses run parallel to the courses for adults and are therefore very suitable as a family course.

Use:
Certificate of competence for optimist sailing

Prerequisites:
Participation from the age of 7

Course duration:
approx. 18 hours of sailing training

Completion:
international junior license (VDS) or certificate from the sailing school

Contents:

Seamanship and nautical knots

Sailing theory

Behavior in special situations

Basic sailing maneuvers (casting off and mooring, tacking, jibing, various
courses to the wind, shooting upwind)

The day courses take place (Mon.-Fri. 09.00-14.00).
