5th Barth Library Talk

Views into the country. Current finds and research in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern The library of St. Mary's Church in Barth houses an important collection of valuable manuscripts and prints from the 15th to 19th centuries. The Barth Library Talks, which were launched on the occasion of the reopening in 2013, are a forum for interdisciplinary academic exchange and also serve as a platform for interested citizens of Barth and the region to meet.
At the 5th Barth Library Talk, the will of the priest Hermann Hoet from 1398 with the first mention of the Barth library will be analyzed in detail for the first time. In addition, other renowned speakers have been invited to present the latest developments in regional history and the cataloging and research of historical library collections. In this way, the conference will also make a significant contribution to public awareness of our cultural and historical heritage beyond the Barth Library.
The conference proceedings planned for 2027 will continue the historical publication series started in 2014.
